I am a memorial mason and letter-carver and a specialist in the design and handcarving of memorials. I make memorials from stone quarried in the British Isles; these include Yorkshire stone, Welsh blue/grey slate, Westmoreland or Lakeland slates and fine-grained limestones; all these stones take lettering beautifully. It is often possible to choose a stone local to its final setting. Various imported granites are also available. The highly polished memorials in black and assorted greys are sourced from India and China.
I have a particular specialism in relief carving. This style of carving can lend itself to portraiture, landscapes, iconography and images of significance to an individual with which to personalise a memorial. |
